Foliage garden has its advantages and disadvantages After the rainy season the greenery is past admiration. nature is at its best. Sharing the garden story of a butterfly birth and loss...Thick growth over takes the once beautiful container plants and they look over grown and loaded with foliage. This is also the time for butterflies and other insects to lay eggs for increasing their fraternity. My garden was also attacked by these hundreds of butterfly eggs. Why attacked.. because the new caterpillars eat their way to health and your plant suffers a slow death!

Pupae of butterfly |
Mostly the lemon plant is their favorite. Here the picture of a Bamboo plant and the fresh lime green larvae is developing a cocoon. The picture quality is not so good as it has been taken by a mobile phone camera.

The caterpillar Pupae |
One the day of birth the beautiful butterfly removes and frees itself from the cocoon. The mother is there on the watch though she is helpless in the hands of nature. Unfortunately this particular one could not come out easily and its one wing got stuck up in the cocoon. It struggled for a day and in the end was found eaten by black ants. This is the bitter truth of nature. The survival of the strongest theory works everywhere ,.more so in nature which is automatic.

butterfly stuck up in its pupae |
Though it was beautiful and very large in size due to a small fault it could not survive. A moment to spare for this beautiful wonder of nature! the next day I saw it eaten by ants....I pray for all those who left us, I pray for my plants also those who have entered my life and left us.... they, each one come in our life as teachers with a message.

Butterflies share so much beauty and they have a short life. I have so much experiences and stories about my terrace garden, some are full of joy with a fresh leaf springing up suddenly or a fragrant rose bud appearing magically. Experiences are life lessons and nature communicating.
Gardens need tending, trimming and transplanting to keep them every green!
