attractive, luring, time energy consuming stops, where most of us are tempted to sit and we lose focus of our goals. In this life time and again we get expected and unexpected halts which take us away from our goals, we try hard but it seems impossible to continue, at such times faith is a strong support system. Believe in the power that exists above us, above all the energies, that which loves us , which has only our betterment.
With our pet missing I am going through such a time where however hard I try cannot focus on art. Still at the end of the day I try to remember my long term goals, try to do at least a bit towards continuing.
Art just does not mean painting, it is much more, the thoughts of works are going on, ideas, the wait,the stored energy which will finally unfold onto the blank canvas that i see daily at each time. Thoughts attachments, lead to energy drain, we do not realise how much energy we spend on thinking of unwanted things, that which we cannot do anything about, that which will heal in its own time. I know friends, pets, plants, attachments all require your time and energy, but let me indulge, let me live, each gets a gift of 24 hours, daily, how we spend it is our look out, spend time with alertness of mind, it will not come back!

Gardening has taught me many lessons of life. the wait, waiting for the new shoots after planting a new plant, waiting for blooms few days, few months, few years and waiting and waiting and the immense happiness after the blooms,each single bloom still gives me immense pleasure, to see how nature unfolds itself , a tiny bub, in to a beautiful bloom.

Patience and perseverance, for all the flowering plants especially anant geraniums which I had to trim and trim to get to see the heavenly fragrant blooms, the amaryllis that bloomed after five years after I abandoned the bulb out of the pot! The fruit trees grown in containers who have have left us, for a better healthy life, found a place in the soil, hope they give plenty of fruits for all.

Pure Self less Love , a special prayer for the alexandrine parakeet who has lived with us for so many years and is caught by someone and caged somewhere now.taught me selfless love compassion, I have learned to understand nature and each plant communicates in a different manner, but they do if you observe, Birds who I feed and care for daily, even after they mess up with my blooms and nearly killed so many of my plants!they have taught me an very important lesson, grow, choose plants according to your environment and not what you like, if you wish to see them alive!

If you wish to see the greenery you need to spend, gardening is not just time consuming but also requires finance for maintaining a green patch. I now understand why we see so many empty pots lying outside homes, those of you who have given up, do spend a few, to maintain the greenery along doing your bit for the environment.Planting a simple easy growing plant if you cannot give time will serve the purpose.
Nature unfold itself into new mysteries, the sky, the birds, the welcome guests and the unwelcome ones, butterflies, snails, doves , owls, bats,eagles and hawks along with the beautiful kingfishers, hope I get a new high resolution camera this year to capture more such ecstatic moments in nature.
Resolutions new year 2013..
Garden design and landscape is among the wish list this year.I will pay more attention to garden  design along with keeping in mind feng shui principles. I will strive to search for information and plant many new rare plants. I will try to visit more plant exhibitions, discover new plant nurseries and share genuine information on plants as possible with garden care simplified readers. I will not spend over board on plants and keep a budget. I will get less emotionally attached with birds and nature, its very hard to let go, and live more among humans!

I ask forgiveness from the universe, while on this gardening journey knowingly, unknowingly I may have hurt many plants, I may have killed them while transplanting, watering, the sunlight, even after struggling with plant pests,  and also may not have been able to do justice with their individual requirements.

Roses Roses Roses everywhere, it is that time of the year where everywhere there is dull dry barren , but the garden boasts of colorful roses, fragrant colorful , small , large, deep colors, pale colors, in groups and singles, yes all the rose bushes are fully loaded with plenty of blooms. We have added two more bushes to the family of roses, though of similar color but the blooms are really worth growing..

 This beautiful rose bush having peach colored flowers, and the pink, yellow and orange, with this we have added a new plant with white flowers. the plant looks different and very attractive with tiny blooms on the whole stem..

 I think this is the snow daisy bush which has more blooms than leaves. The growing habit will have to be monitored as this show may be during winter, it has got a good place with indirect sunlight, and regular watering along with other plants of the family. There are very few leaves on the plant and the flowers though very tiny growing in bunches give the plant a snow appearance.

 Surfing the net fell upon the Elder tree, with white flowers growing in bunches, with its myths and folk lores the elder tree is supposed to be haunted with witches or spirits. It has been believed that the tree is blessed with spirits that when respected, bring good luck and prosperity to the home. I do understand that each plant has its own spirit, and each is connected to other to complete the whole.As a plant dies the barren area loses its energy, which needs to be replaced with new ones if you wish to balance the energy of the garden. I have observed that sometimes a new plant when added does not feel right for the container, and needs shifting, whereas an old plant when kept in a certain place does not feel right, plants do communicate where they feel good by their growth in a few days. The aura of each plant is different, especially the Chinese evergreen, has a great wide aura and needs more space.whereas the spider lily though having long elongated leaves fits in a small place.

Winter, when all plants take rest, we have added a few new ones to our family. With tagar one of them , a beautiful medicinal plant with white fragrant flowers. The gladiolus bulbs after taking rest this year, we did not get blooms the whole year, are now sprouting with new life. Hoping to see some red burst in the garden this new year.

double tagar is a shrub growing with dark green leaves. The plant looks almost similar to anant or geraniums.
The flowers are a pure white, just like white roses. The tagar plant has lots of medicinal uses one of them being sedative. The beautiful white heavenly blooms covering the green plant look very attractive in this winter climate.

Tagar variegated

 Another variety of tagar, variegated, with white blooms used in temples for pujas and offering to God in India. A flowering shrub growing with plenty of white blooms. This tagar plant has greyish green leaves with white petalled flowers.

 Flowering tips for tagar- As a shrub the plant grows in all directions and need regular trimming to maintain its shape. the tagar plant is very easy to grow and requires very little care.

Tagra \tagar plant grows well in indirect sunlight and gives plenty of blooms through out the year.

good porous soil required, avoid growing in full sunlight.

After the flowering session it is advisable to trim the plant for good regrowth and flowering.

Except for prayers I do not have any other way, people do laugh away at the thought of finding her, a bird who is left free, after the sticking of pamphlets, and enquiring in the next buildings, I have no way left, searching, waiting alone...Is it my mistake to keep her free, no cage, to enjoy her life and still care for her..
Karma is at work, may be she is helpless, I am help less, but nature is not helpless, God never fails them who leave their trust in him, The universe has its own laws which though may take time but is something to be afraid of, if you love something the whole universe conspires for you to get it, closing off with this faith, a small little hope...

The Chinese rose plants are available in many colors and in shaded variety also. Pink, dark pink, majenta, yellow, peach , off white and shading variety. the most tough variety is the vibrant pink colored one. The blooms only begin to open when they receive sunlight and close early evening , depending upon the sunlight received. So if the plant does not get good sunlight then the blooms will be weak and small, not healthy.

 Tips for growing Chinese Rose flowering Plant: 

The Chinese Rose plant is very easy to grow and will cover the whole pot within few days, I try to cut the stems coming healthy and keep planting them next to the mother plant, and very soon we see the whole pot covered in pink blooms. The Chinese rose grows best in hanging baskets and pots. This plant is used  as center or borders  in any landscape arrangements.

Choose a spot in your window or garden which receives maximum sunlight for healthy flowers. If the plant does not get enough sunlight the leaves look limpy and will not grow. A healthy Chinese rose plant will have erect stems and will have good blooms fast. The plant though looks very delicate is actually very sturdy and can survive quite some beatings from pigeons and other birds. As they pluck the delicate stems and throw them on the ground this plant will survive in indirect water also and even after few days if your plant the same stem into a pot they will immediately take root and begin growth. miracle plant!

Water very carefully, you will damage the plant or kill it! do not water over the stems, add water to the soil slowly.

Chinese Rose growing important suggestions- The Chinese Rose plant has thin lanky stems that fall over the containers and the end of the stems has tiny buds that bloom into lovely flowers. An easy way to grow this beautiful flowering plant is by cutting the stems and transplanting them aside of the original plant in container. Each stem grows into a new plant as this branches out. Select healthy stems for transplanting as thin stems dry out and do too produce roots. The Chinese rose plant is tough and even when the stems fall from the plants they live for many days if they are receiving water, this we have experience as during winters the garden friends , pigeons, pluck out these plants, and our pot had gone almost barren few days back, but the plant is back in form with new growth!
So don't throw the dried plants, they suddenly spring up! I do remember this Chinese rose plant cutting was in my purse for many days and forgot about it, and as I found it the stem after many days I trimmed the edge and planted in mud immediately the plant stem was saved and took root.

The Chinese rose plant needs regular watering as the summers are very hot and the plant grows best in the summer season.

 Winter has set in and with all plants shedding leaves the garden is looking a tad dull and boring.The mogra plant almost died, so it looked with all leaves curling and dropping one by one, leaving behind a dried stub!

 Some excitement in the garden, the neighbors garden had an unexpected visitor, the hawk, rarely seen here,as we are used to having eagles, bats and owls! not to mention our bird friends, the crow, sparrow, mynas, pigeons, egrets, king fishers, bulbul, humming bird, and the many rare ones which I do not know names of, which reminds me our parakeet is still missing...the blood red eyes is only what I remember of the hawk, piercing eyes, grey feathers with a yellowish beak... and he sure meant business, to catch some bird!

a simple tip for flowering in mogra plant is to add used tea leaves. the correct procedure to add tea leaves is after the tea is boiled use the remaining used tea leaves for your flowering plants. Usually tea is prepared after adding milk and this is not so very good for the plants, as I have had ants feasting on my plants! wash the tea leaves thoroughly and then spread the leaves over the soil, very good fertilizer for all flowering plants growing in sunlight or containers. The reason is the milk and tea leaves when kept for long time wet over the soil get attacked by fungus and red ants, who will destroy your plant leave aside fertilize it!
