Beautiful The Canna Flower by Rizwana Mundewadi

The Pair of Red and Yellow Canna Plants
The beautiful Canna flowers have very thick strong leaves and require very little care. They are grown from rhizome or tubers. They are not bulbs but a thick rhizome grows under the soil which emits green long leaves. Leaves are dark green and some species also have bright green. The leaves are thick and strong.
Cannas are available in many beautiful colours. The reds are too good, especially the one I have is very deep crimson red colour. The yellow one shown in the picture is red and yellow shaded flower. Cannas are also available in orange, peach, pink and many shaded varieties are also available.
Transplanting is very easy and each piece of the tuber produces a new plant. They require some fertilizing for regular flowering and they give beautiful flowers all year round. The old shoots after flowering dry out naturally and can be cut off after drying.
This plant is a very wonderful flowering plant which can be used as dividers in a garden and they give quite a show of colour when grown in groups. Also used for fencing and privacy as they have thick green leaves which when grown in groups fulfill the need of privacy.
Tip: Do not cut the shoots immediately after flowering and let it dry on the plant. If there is thick foliage of leaves and plant does not flower then cut back some green leaves till the base keeping one plant. The reason in many plants for not flowering is that the pot is too small and all the energy of the plant goes in maintaining the green leaves.
