From tiny leaves to pomfret shaped leaves we see so many of the sage green succulent plants. The best part is they have thick leaves with stored water content hence they are hardy and survive the most droughtful climates. so many variates of beautiful succulents are available, each with
different unique colorful flowers. They are different from cactus, succulents do not have thorns.

Caring for succulents- Water carefully , never over water but always water regularly. Well draining soil is a must as the root system is very weak. I have had to put rocks above the container as support to the heavy flower laden stalk to hold the stem in place. Rocks I have seen also help from water directly seeping inside the pot.

Sunlight is a tricky aspect,
as I have learned, too much and the leaves dry off and less the plant goes
mushy and stems falls off. Indirect sunlight is essential for healthy succulents growth.
With flowering, what I learned from this was you need to do the bitter part of cutting. These plants after flowering are nearly dead, or look so, and then gradually the leaves start coming as tiny greens , at this time when watered more or very less the plant dies off. I would avoid cutting but I noticed they start dieing after flowering stalk is left on plant for weeks.
Insects and bugs love this fleshy leaves plant, very common to see holes in
succulents plant leaves. Water and see that the plant gets air, hanging pots are best for succulents.
The roots are very less and the
plant does not grow deep so it also falls off from containers with its own
weight. Stones, rocks, pebbles work well as support. Succulents hence are also very good as rock garden plants.
The good part is it succulent plants
do not die easily the tiny stems also start another new plant when given the
right conditions and soil for growth. The tiny leaves are delicate and beautiful but fall off if not cared for properly.
People boast of succulents as easy
growers but I have not had much luck with them, The jade plants we have lost ,
and different calanchoe plants, though the last year one is still somewhere
trying to pull off with tiny leaves. The beautiful healthy silver jade is
what we have in two containers, beautiful grey colored fleshy leaves, each
leaf giving out tiny grey colored roses shaped leaves at the edge of a
leaf. the beauty is that the leaf dangling over the pot also survives only on
water and still gives out roots that grow side of the original parent plant, I
have to keep it in place within a few days as this one loves to travel!Succulents are easy to grow but I
have not had much of luck with them and finally have decided to keep buying
succulents till I get the right growth techniques and formula for flowering! I have tried placing the pots in the window garden so that they receive indirect sunlight during day time.
Bit I guess they need sunlight also
to grow healthy. In open terrace gardens with the rains, they may die due to excessive watering. The succulents plants have fleshy leaves . The growth
patterns is similar to all, leaves come from older leaves and thus multiply. Fleshy
green leaves in different green shades from light green to greyish green to
dark green , oval shaped, tear drop shaped or round shaped growing in circular
pattern.

Kalanchoe are beautiful. The flowering also quite similar fashion, a single stem comes up with bunches of tiny flowers, what is different and unique each plant gives different shaded flowers. I am so fascinated with the beauty of these succulents, vermillon red flowers look great against the greenery of the garden. Kalanchoe flowering succulents have vibrant flowers, yellow, vermillon red, peach, pink, flowers, growing in the same style, fleshy oval shaped green leaves, the elongated stem coming up with tiny vibrant flowers growing in bunches.
Online plants are available easily nowadays and such cute potted plants ready as gifts. I have received many plant gifts, especially from ferns n petals as they deliver within a day and even the last minute bookings are honored as gifts reach on time, I hear they have specials mid night delivery also, that is awesome to receive what I most love, Plants!
With giving plants, succulents are considered best because they remain healthy even without regularly watering. When we receive plant gifts they are potted in special soil that is well draining and keeps the root aerated. What more we just have to sparingly add water to these potted plants.
These are best feng shui plants because of this reason. they are tough, survive harsh climatic conditions and grow with less care. In fact they grow well with elss water and care! Due to their storing capacity of water they are storage houses of goodluck.
As usual my window gardens are overflowing with joy! but am still waiting for brahma kamal blooms...
Hence succulents are also given as plant gifts for
any occasion.
