I myself have had to let go of many of my old heavy plant container due to difficulties in handling, shifting and even growing plants in the limited balcony/rather window garden. The trends today is for earthen pots with a rustic feel. Few years back the ceramics ruled, so also metal containers.
There are so many options with gardening and I am blessed to have continued the passion with whatever environment changes we go through. The only limitation would be of limited sunlight(like for us) I wanted the pathway effect so my plants were lined up for the long passage way at out entrance. Gardening never seems to stop testing my creativity and passion.The trends are a lot of sustainable gardening. The support matters, especially with new plants and tall plants supporting them with rocks helps them get the desired support till they root well.

It was time...to let go. However beautiful and however mush the journey has been with these large containers, I had to give them away. I no longer am able to lift heavy containers and also with the limited sunlight and gloomy environment here in my entryway and window gardens,I really found it difficult to handle large containers with so much soil. the roots that had over grown did not allow the plants to flourish and caring too became difficult. It is better to uproot and grow in smaller container than to have dull sick limy plants growing in your garden, that is the decision you have to make.
