1) Understanding the environment-You really have to understand how much sunlight your garden receives everyday. If its a window garden which is north facing, like for my window garden, it receives almost no direct sunlight. If your garden is East or west it will receive direct sunlight in morning and evening respectively. Winds if heavy will torture the plants daily and many wilt due to pressure of strong winds. Too much direct sunlight also will burn leaves and flowers which again is not good. Thus environment will have a influence on the next step, choosing right type of plants.

This helps to keep an evergreen garden with plants happily growing without much care.

2) Choosing type of plants-"Indoor plants" as they are called also need sunlight and don't go literally with the plant sellers who quote that plants grow indoors without sunlight! Ornamental and decorative plants also need indirect sunlight to grow healthy. The Chinese bamboo also needs some indirect sunlight and some direct if you get to grow healthy. 

Roses need sunlight but if the plant gets too much direct sunlight the leaves burn and even flowers wilt within half day. Roses need only few hours of direct morning or evening sunlight. All flowering plants need some amount of direct sunlight for flowering. 

If you don't get sunlight choose ornamental and indoor plants which are dark green in colour or fleshy and have thick leaves. 

If you have less time to spend on daily gardening choose medium sized containers so that plants have water retention and staying power even if you don't water daily.  

Jade plants require less care

Snake plant, aloe vera, brahma kamal, cactus plants, Chinese evergreen, agave, mother in laws tongue, Chinese bamboo, money plant all are lovely plants which require more love and less care. Hassle free and not need to water daily. They stay even when you go on vacations without care. 

Anthuriums are also happy with indirect sunlight

Sada phuli, vinca rose, petunias, pink white yellow star cluster plants, etc are some flowering plants that are happy with less indirect sunlight but they are seasonal and may wilt off after few months. So if you need fresh gardens choose ornamental plants that are showy and have coloured leaves. My Purple hearts plant is so happy it overflows from pots and even the small cuttings grow dangling in air without any care!

3) Acceptance-This is the most important gardening hack. STOP BUYING! You just can't buy whatever you like. Some plants just will never oblige in challenging environments. The process is bitter but acceptance comes over time. I have killed so many plants... daily I pray and bless them for the lessons they gave me in life. With open terrace gardens, counter top garden ,window sill garden, window garden, miniature garden, mini gardens , big and tiny container gardens I have over the years tried so many growing hacks and gardening types and this has always given me so much happiness and my home positive vibes. 

I personally take care of my gardens and never tell maid to do the watering. Gardening is love, gardening is passion and it gives so much satisfaction and peace. I trim the dried leaves immediately and keep check on pests and diseases, very alert. Most important secret for an evergreen happy garden, Lots of love and not much daily care is my way. I love to see fresh plants growing without much hassle of trimming ,cutting, watering or adding anything, they just love my love for them! you must immediately stop the negative-as in life so also in gardening!

HOW YOU CAN FORCE BLOOMS IN AMARYLLIS LILY BULB PLANTS FLOWERING TIPS Photos

 Amaryllis lily flowers are amazing! Large size, vibrant colours, showy flowers. There are many colours in flowers of lilly but all bulbs look the same. I had planted this bulb in a plastic tub and this started multiplying like hell! within few months I had many little bulbs and no doubt it did not flower then. I had to leave this bulb many times outside of the pot, just in case it continues to multiply. But since I have planted it in a mud pot it gives flowers every six months. This post is especially  dedicated to the new growth of the blooms and how you can force flowers from bulb plants.

Special Tips that worked for my bulb plants: Keep it in a small pot. If you give it more space it will start multiplying and all the energy of the plant will go in developing leaves. It likes to be root bound.

Watering carefully is important.  Less water, partially shaded area but one that gets sunlight for some time. The soil for these bulbs must be dry and not mushy wet. They will rot with over watering.

The large leaves look beautiful but we must not encourage this growth too much. Other wise all energy goes in maintaining the plant with so many leaves. I have noticed that few leaves produce faster flowers.

I have actually trimmed my plants many times keeping few for them to make food and they bless me with large sized flowers.

The most important part-they get root rot, bulb rot, white aphids, fungus. You will see the underside of leaves with white fungus and aphids which need to be cleaned thoroughly with water and spray with hose pipe, water with some pressure to remove the pests. After this they need sunlight to grow fast and recover from pest attack. 

Forcing blooms is a trick. You must not allow the plant to grow too much leaves. Allow it more sunlight and less watering. Trim rotted leaves immediately. If your bulb shows less leaves, but they are green,  it will give larger flowers.

 Succulents are so sweet, require less care and live forever! heard that but not very true for me! shring practical tips to save succulents, grow healthy succulents and why they are one among the best of feng shui Goodluck plants.

From tiny leaves to pomfret shaped leaves we see so many of the sage green succulent plants. The best part is they have thick leaves with stored water content hence they are hardy and survive the most droughtful climates.  so many variates of beautiful succulents are available, each with different unique colorful flowers. They are different from cactus, succulents do not have thorns. Succulents plants have unique showy flowers, ranging from light red, to pinks, white , shaded pink and white, off white, creamy yellow and white, to the brightest red. Hence succulents are always  loved ones and also selected for the less care required.

Caring for succulents- Water carefully , never over water but always water regularly. Well draining soil is a must as the root system is very weak. I have had to put rocks above the container as support to the heavy flower laden stalk to hold the stem in place. Rocks I have seen also help from water directly seeping inside the pot.

Sunlight is a tricky aspect,  as I have learned, too much and the leaves dry off and less the plant goes mushy and stems falls off. Indirect sunlight is essential for healthy succulents growth. 

With flowering, what I learned from this was you need to do the bitter part of cutting. These plants after flowering are nearly dead, or look so, and then gradually the leaves start coming as tiny greens , at this time when watered more or very less the plant dies off. I would avoid cutting but I noticed they start dieing after flowering stalk is left on plant for weeks. 

 Insects and bugs love this fleshy leaves plant, very common to see holes in succulents plant leaves. Water and see that the plant gets air, hanging pots are best for succulents. 

The roots are very less and the plant does not grow deep so it also falls off from containers with its own weight. Stones, rocks, pebbles work well as support. Succulents hence are also very good as rock garden plants. 

The good part is it succulent plants do not die easily the tiny stems also start another new plant when given the right conditions and soil for growth. The tiny leaves are delicate and beautiful but fall off if not cared for properly. 

People boast of succulents as easy growers but I have not had much luck with them, The jade plants we have lost , and different calanchoe plants, though the last year one is still somewhere trying to pull off with tiny leaves.  The beautiful healthy silver jade is what we have in two containers, beautiful grey colored fleshy leaves, each leaf giving out tiny grey colored roses shaped  leaves at the edge of a leaf. the beauty is that the leaf dangling over the pot also survives only on water and still gives out roots that grow side of the original parent plant, I have to keep it in place within a few days as this one loves to travel!Succulents are easy to grow but I have not had much of luck with them and finally have decided to keep buying succulents till I get the right growth techniques and formula for flowering! I have tried  placing the pots  in the window garden so that they receive indirect sunlight during day time.

Bit I guess they need sunlight also to grow healthy. In open terrace gardens with the rains, they may die due to excessive watering. The succulents plants have fleshy leaves . The growth patterns is similar to all, leaves come from older leaves and thus multiply. Fleshy green leaves in different green shades from light green to greyish green to dark green , oval shaped, tear drop shaped or round shaped growing in circular pattern.

Kalanchoe are beautiful. The flowering also quite similar fashion, a single stem comes up with bunches of tiny flowers, what is different and unique each plant gives different shaded flowers. I am so fascinated with the beauty of these succulents, vermillon red flowers look great against the greenery of the garden. Kalanchoe  flowering succulents have vibrant flowers, yellow, vermillon red, peach, pink,  flowers, growing in the same style, fleshy oval shaped green leaves, the elongated stem coming up with tiny vibrant flowers growing in bunches.

Online plants are available easily nowadays and such cute potted plants ready as gifts. I have received many plant gifts, especially from ferns n petals as they deliver within a day and even the last minute bookings are honored as gifts reach on time, I hear they have specials mid night delivery also, that is awesome to receive what I most love, Plants! 

With giving plants, succulents are considered best because they remain healthy even without regularly watering. When we receive plant gifts they are potted in special soil that is well draining and keeps the root aerated. What more we just have to sparingly add water to these potted plants.  

These are best feng shui plants because of this reason. they are tough, survive harsh climatic conditions and grow with less care. In fact they grow well with elss water and care! Due to their storing capacity of water they are storage houses of goodluck. 

As usual my window gardens are overflowing with joy! but am still waiting for brahma kamal blooms...

Hence succulents are also given as plant gifts for any occasion.
