New seeds sprouting of Water melon and Musk melon Fruits |
Buddha Purnima, full moon night celebrated as Vesak, meaning full moon day in sanskrit. The birth, enlightenment and passing away of Buddha. While Buddhists from around the globe celebrate Buddha Purnima with flowers, candles and incense, it symbolizes that life is one to go away and as the flowers wither and the candles burn away so also is life subject to decay and completion.
Devoted Buddhists spend this time in spiritual meditations, rituals for purification and sharing gifts and doing good deeds, helping the needy and also expressing the joy of existence.
While the tradition goes that at the time of his death while his followers were weeping Buddha advised them to understand the Dharma, law that is nature, and death is certain, a change, of the soul leaving the decaying body. Doing good deeds and observing a simple life is the true observance of honoring this day.
While I have an artwork in a new technique on Buddha Purnima, the new seeds have come up great. The seeds of fruits, water melon and musk melon are coming up , except they will need protection from our heavenly friendly who may decode one day to feed or stamp on them for coolness! These are creepers that grow fast and spread, and have never seen one, lets see how this progresses.
